Contract Administration Training Program

Are you facing the following challenges?

An erosion of management’s rights on the shop floor because supervisors are unsure of what action they can take under your labor agreement?

Costly or restrictive past practices which you would like to eliminate?

Shop stewards who are more knowledgeable about the local contract than management representatives?

Grievances that could be settled at the 1st or 2nd step being settled by Human Resources or senior plant management?

Plant initiatives you would like to implement but can’t because of restrictive contract language?

The one-day Contract Administration training program provides first level supervisors, managers and HR generalists involved in grievance handling and day-to-day contract administration with a practical understanding of the basics of the collective bargaining agreement.  As a result of this program, participants will be able to:

Exercise management’s rights in order to meet operational objectives

Interpret contract provisions with increased confidence

Settle grievances at the first and second step through greater understanding of the labor agreement

 Contract Administration Metrics Software

In order to measure the impact of this program on plant performance, a metrics software tracking system has been developed which enables client organizations to track performance prior to and after the class.

Data tracked includes:

Types of grievances and arbitration cases, disposition and cost

Labor savings through elimination of costly past practices

Plant initiatives implemented to improve productivity and reduce cost

The software provides ease of data entry and automatic generation of graphs to chart performance over a twelve month period.  Data from multiple plant locations can be consolidated into a master file for tracking at divisional or company levels.
