What Every Manager Needs to Know About Equal Employment Opportunity

The goal of this course is to enable managers to know how EEO laws impact their day-to-day responsibilities as leaders within the organization.

Course length: 3 Hours (typical)  

Objectives:

At the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

Identify the key provisions of federal Civil Rights Legislation including:

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964

The Civil Rights Act of 1991

ADEA

Equal Pay Act

The Americans with Disabilities Act

Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Act

Explain the specific requirements for federal contractors outlined in Executive Order 11246

Explain how the laws impact managers in the areas of:

interviewing and hiring

compensation

work assignment

performance management

discipline and termination

Describe the human and financial cost to the organization if discrimination occurs

Explain the actions supervisors and Human Resources professionals must take to promote Equal Employment Opportunity
