Violence in the Workplace Training

Course Length: 4 hours (typical)

Participants will learn what constitutes workplace violence and more importantly, what can be done to reduce the chances of a workplace violence incident.  This course is designed for general employees; a separate course is structured for managers and supervisors.  The course can be structured to explain your company's policy and procedures for dealing with workplace violence.

Course Objectives:

Define workplace violence.

Describe workplace violence policy

Describe procedures for reporting threats.

State how to request assistance for workplace violence issues.

Identify effective strategies for avoiding personal harm.

Additional Topics:

Identify examples of workplace violence

Identify types of workplace violence

Explain the cycle that leads to violence

Signs of an “at risk individual”

Coping with threats and violence

Describe principle of safety

The course includes a video and application of course materials to day-to-day work situations.
