Violence in the Workplace Training

Course Length: 4 hours (typical)

In this training workshop, participants will learn what constitutes workplace violence and more importantly, what can be done to reduce the chances of a workplace violence incident.  This course is designed for general employees; a separate course is structured for managers and supervisors.  The course can be structured to explain your company's policy and procedures for dealing with workplace violence.

Course Objectives:

  • Define workplace violence.
  • Describe workplace violence policy

  • Describe procedures for reporting threats.

  • State how to request assistance for workplace violence issues.

  • Identify effective strategies for avoiding personal harm.

Additional Topics:

  • Identify examples of workplace violence
  • Identify types of workplace violence

  • Explain the cycle that leads to violence

  • Signs of an “at risk individual”

  • Coping with threats and violence

  • Describe principle of safety

The course includes a video and application of course materials to day-to-day work situations.
